Shortly after 11:40 a.m. on April 8, first responders in Frederick County were called to the interstate near Exit 42 in Myersville, where there was a truck fully engulfed in flames, leading to a road closure, which was still in effect as of 1 p.m. on Monday.
Officials said that firefighters had to offload the hay being shipped before they could fully extinguish the truck fire.
While firefighters were battling the blaze, drivers were advised that they can expect heavy delays, and were instructed to use Route 40 (Baltimore National Pike) as an alternate route.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
